About Me

I am happy to be a team member at Quilters Quest. I have been an art enthusiast since I can remember. My craft room is full of many hobbies, probably too many, but sewing and quilting have run deep for me since grade school. My first sewing project was a dress for my Barbie, what little arm holes they have. Garments were my mainstay until my sister and I decided to make a graduation photo quilt for each of our nieces and nephews. Well, the bug bit us and I have been quilting ever since.

I am a fabric curator, that is to say I have more fabric and projects than I can finish in my lifetime. I love the first quilt we made but I look back and laugh. I have learned many techniques along the way, but I love to make up my own thing. The enticing aspect of quilting is finding color combinations that make movement in a quilt. When I see a great combination of traditional pattern tweaked to a modern design with great colors, I see what I strive for. Eventually, I would love to expand my skills for art quilts, combining my art and quilting backgrounds. Someday, maybe I’ll see “textile artist” next to my name.

My family knows not to touch my sewing scissors, but they are what I wake up grateful for. I come from a large family and have a loving husband and two daughters. We love to travel, by plane or by camper, or just hang out together. I love to garden for the beauty of flowers and flavor of fresh vegetables. I hope to be of any assistance to you and your projects and will see you in the store.
