About Me
My Great Grandmother, Grandmother, and Mom were my inspiration to start quilting. My Great Grandfather was a tailor as well. In high school I took a Creative Stitchery course and really loved embroidery, sewing, knitting, crochet and working with clay. With raising a family, many of my hobbies were put aside and in the last couple of years I have really tried to make up for lost time :) I have 6 sewing machines and my Janome M7 is currently my favorite. My Great Grandmother Lydia is the one who inspired me when I was young.
My quilting style is developing as the girls at QQ will attest to haha. I love Free Motion Quilting (hence why I love my Janome M7) and really have spent most of my time thread-painting and doing hand embroidery. I have recently found that I really love Quilting and working with these wonderful creative ladies (and Bob) I am always inspired to challenge myself and try new patterns/new ways of quilting. My favorite techniques are thread- painting and free motion quilting. My favorite quilters are the girls at QQ, they are very helpful. Some of the things on my quilting "bucket list" are learn to long-arm, and do some Intermediate quilts, not beginner :) My favorite project I have ever finished was the thread painted Alpaca and she won an award in 2023 for me. I love working at Quilters Quest because of the great atmosphere, I learn new things and of course all the gorgeous fabric:)
Outside of quilting, I am also an Ultrarunner, Master Gardener, Real Estate Broker (28 years), Charity Seamstress for Baby Angels and Golf. I am currently the President of the Lockport Ladies Golf League and love to play any chance I get, whether with my husband, our kids or friends. My husband Kurt and I work together in Real Estate and between us we have 5 children, one 10 year old grandson, two grandbabies on the way and two dobermans. Kurt and I love to golf, travel and most importantly, enjoy life!
