About Me
I come by sewing honestly. My mother is an excellent garment and home decor sewer. My paternal grandmother was a seamstress for Hart Schaffner Marx in the 1920's/30's. I have her Singer treadle machine. I started needle crafts and sewing around the age of 8 or 9. My grandmother taught me how to crewel and my mother taught me how to hand and machine sew. My sewing projects consisted of garments and home dec. Plus, throw in some needle point, cross stitch, knitting and crocheting.
I started quilting about 10 years ago. I don't know if I have an actual style. I make what interests me at any given time. Hopefully my techniques have improved!! I like to make quilts for family and friends. On occasion I make one for me too!
Quilters Quest is my happy place!!! What's not to love about touching fabric all day. I enjoy helping customers with their color and fabric choices. Customer show and tell is always a highlight.
I am a Chicago native as is my husband. We have four children, 2 girls and 2 boys. I belong to 2 quilt guilds, Faithful Circle and Riverwalk. I am in a bee through Riverwalk. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love to travel and garden, football in the fall, and baseball. Go Cubs!
Quilting is my creative outlet and free therapy.
