Art Quilt Open Studio

Have you started an art quilt but aren’t sure what to do next? Do you want to learn how to use your watercolor pencils on fabric? Are the color wheel and color blending total mysteries to you?

Quilt artist Kathy Steere will answer your questions and offer guidance during this loosely structured class. She will bring in some of her art quilts for inspiration and to show a variety of art quilt techniques. You will also have the opportunity to learn how to color on fabric using water-soluble crayons and watercolor pencils.

Bring your art quilt project and all supplies and equipment necessary to work on it.
Bring a free-motion quilted quilt sandwich with light colored top for coloring and any coloring supplies you have. (10” x 10” or a scrap large enough to play with.)
Purchase a kit from the instructor ($15 - cash or check, please) and use her water soluble crayons and watercolor pencils to learn how to apply color to cloth.
Bring whatever art quilt “stuff” you have and we’ll figure out how you can use it.
