Kids Camp 2026
Summer sewing camp for girls and boys! Class meets July 8, 9, 10. Signup for all three, or one or two. Sewing
skills will added with each day so it’s better register for all three days if you can.
Sewing machines, the Bernette 77, will be provided. Bring listed sewing supplies and fabrics.
The first 15- 20 minutes each day will be spent learning the sewing machine and practicing sewing straight, curves,
seams etc.
It is very important that you are seated at your sewing machine and ready to start by 10 am!!
Bring a drink and small snack. Drinks must be in a covered container and please no messy snacks!
Day 1 – July 8 Name banner
Decorate your room with this cute name banner! You will choose your fabric and felt. We will iron on the
interfacing, cutout as many rectangles as you need, up to 12, then sew on the letters sew each rectangle, and run the
cord through the rectangles.
2/3 yard of 42” cotton fabric
1 1⁄2 yds FS101 iron on interfacing
1⁄4 yard Heat & Bond Lite = or Wonder Under
2 spools of thread - 1 to match cotton fabric, 1 to match felt
At Hobby Lobby or Michaels - 3 pieces coordinating 9 x 12 felt,
and 2 1⁄2 yards 1⁄4”” rope or parachute cord, or twine
Helpful if you have OESD Point and Press Tool,

Day 2 July 9 Lined 13 x 15’ Tote Bag with front pocket using decorative stitches!
1⁄2 yard cotton fabric for outside and 1⁄2 yard cotton for lining
1⁄4 yard, or fat quarter for the pocket - choose a solid or small light print for the pocket, so the decorative stitches
will show.
1⁄4 yard FS 101
2-3 spools of thread - 1 to match cotton fabric, 1 for lining and 1 for decorative stitching on pocket
1 1⁄2 yard of 1” cotton webbing for straps

Day 3 July 10 Cork zippered bag with boxed bottom and tassel
You will purchase the kit from the teacher for $18, a choice of butterfly with rainbow hardware, red cherry with red zipper
and silver hardware, or black with silver hardware a red zipper. Please indicate which kit you want when registering for the class.
Sewing with cork is sooo easy! And putting in the zipper easier than you think
We will cut everything out in class
You will need to bring thread to match the cork.
