Our Favorite Gifts for Quilters

It’s that time of year when we start thinking about all the things we want to make and gift our loved ones for the holidays, but what about gifts for your favorite quilter? We’ve gathered our favorite products, fabric, and notions to help with wish list planning!

Quilt Kit

One of the best parts of quilting is selecting fabric and pairing colors, but when life gets busy, it’s fun to sew from a kit. It’s also great to always have a kit on hand in case you need a quick gift! Panel kits are one of our favorite options! No, it’s not just a name! These are the perfect scissors for everything. The micro-serrated blades cut through everything crisply and neatly. The soft handles are easy on your hands. We like to keep a pair handy at every station!

Fat Quarter Bundle

Whether you’re a beginner or advanced quilter, nothing is more joyful than a fat quarter bundle! This cheery set from Hoffman in primary colors is the best complement to any quilter’s stash. Pair it with a fun fat-quarter friendly pattern, such as Spring in Paris from Zen chic. 

Rulers

Most of us have all of our basics covered in the rulers department, but for the holidays, why not splurge on something new and interesting? Our favorite is Jaybird Quilt’s Hex N More ruler where you can cut FOUR shapes in FOUR sizes! You can make hexagons, 60 degree triangles, half hexagons, and jewels. Not only does it go great with many of the patterns in the Jaybird Quilt’s library, you can apply it to any pattern that uses any of the four shapes!

Another favorite is the GE Designs Stripology Squared Quilt Ruler. Once you’ve become a convert, you can never go back to cutting strips one at a time. This ruler is a time saver and helps you to make accurate cuts. Quilter’s Quest also offers many GE Designs patterns and books!

Accuquilt Starter Set

We are big fans of the Accuquilt Fabric Cutter systems! For anyone who does not love cutting or the projects that require a large quantity of the same cuts, the Accuquilt system is a lifesaver! This starter set is excellent for the beginner or advanced quilter because it makes accurate cuts with notches and clips to easily match seams so that you can get to the best part of quilting– sewing! We also offer a monthly class, Accuquilt Club, for Accuquilt enthusiasts (you don’t even need to own an Accuquilt to join!) so that you can learn new techniques and make new blocks with the cutting system.

Zirkel

When you need a pin, find it easily with a magnetic pinholder that not only holds all the pins, but magically spreads them out so that the pins aren’t piled in one big bunch and the pin heads are easily accessible! Genius!
