About Me

I started sewing at Chicago parks when I was 10. I stayed there until I graduated from high school. In college, I majored in textiles and clothing. After college, I had a great job testing fabrics for claims in the Sear Catalog. I left there when we started our family. I sewed everything for our home and our kids. Including their snowsuits and even girls' underwear. I also did some custom sewing to supplement our income.

I taught adult ed classes from the time I left college. I especially like teaching beginners because they are so excited when everything starts to come together. I started quilting in the the early 80's. Since retirement, I have been doing more quilting, while still sewing for home and kids. I especially like all the tools that make sewing and quilting so much easier.

My other interests include gardening, antiquing, biking, and travel. The travel usually includes quilt and fabric shops. Our son lives in Memphis and I have convinced my husband that Paducah is on the way. Maybe he is humoring me.
