About Me

My mom taught me to sew when I was very young. I began quilting in 2004 when I was assigned a Trip Around the World quilt as a Home Ec. project. I instantly took a liking to it since it combined my love of sewing and fabric without my dislike of constructing sleeves.

After trying my hand at a few small quilting projects, I signed up for the Basic Quiltmaking class at Pieceful Heart Fabrics. Over the years, I've dabbled in a lot of different techniques and I enjoy learning new things with each quilt I make. Paper piecing is one of my favorite methods, and I also enjoy hand applique, English paper piecing, and machine embroidery. I am a member of the Riverwalk Quilters and Faithful Circle Guilds.

My role at QQ includes planning and organizing the special events, writing the email newsletter, and updating the website and social media accounts. I also teach a variety of classes. My favorite parts of working and teaching at Quilters Quest are being inspired by the show and tell, getting to meet new people, and buying lots of fabric.

In addition to quilting, I also enjoy reading, spending time with my family, and being outside camping or hiking. I studied children and family ministry at Northwestern College in Minnesota. I have two cats, Lucky and Gracie, that love to help me by rearranging my quilt blocks and taking naps on my quilts.
